Novak Djokovic has won this event three times and he will likely be the favorite even though he did not play last week in Madrid. Djokovic is ranked #1 in the world and has already won in Miami, Monte Carlo and Indiana Wells.
His competition figures to come from Nadal even though Nadal is the fourth seed. It is hard to see either Federer or Murray winning this event although they are seeded higher than Nadal.
Nishikori would probably be a better choice if you are looking for someone other than Djokovic or Nadal. Last year it was Djokovic beating Nadal in the final by a score of 4-6, 6-3, 6-3.
