The Croatia Open was first started in 1990 as the Yugoslavia Open, and it began as a World Series event. Then it moved to the International Series, then the International Series and now, it is a World Tour 2250 Series tournament. It is also played outdoors on clay, and it is the final weekof the year that a tournament will be played on clay outside of the Davis Cup.
