It only took the San Francisco 49ers to go up 35-0 before Tampa Bay and the GOAT Tom Brady finally scored and got this Week 14 game to within 28 points.  Yeah Folks, this was an ugly one.  But not if you're a 49ers fan or bettor.

San Francisco 49ers futures to win Super Bowl 2023 were set between 8-1 and 11-1 (live futures here).

The 49ers were banged up bad too coming into this game.  Is it too early to say "Mr Irrelevant" is for real?

Mr. Irrelevant is the nickname given to the last pick of the annual National Football League Draft. Although NFL drafts date back to 1936.

And that's who the 49ers started on Sunday to replace the injured Jimmy Garoppolo (Lisfranc foot injury).  It's Brock Purdy's team now, at least for the remainder of this season, and up to the Super Bowl if they get that far.

Garoppolo suffered his injury on December 6, 2022 and will likely be sidelined for 7-8 weeks.   If Purdy somehow gets the 49ers to the Super Bowl, it's doubtful Garoppolo will play in that game, even if he's good to go.

ESPN's Ian Rapoport said: “It is not considered realistic, based on the sources I’ve talked to, that he’s back for late in the playoffs."

As for Purdy, the 49ers seem to think he's the biggest thing since that other guy, Tom Brady.  Well if you were watching that Bucs-49ers game, Brady looked less like the G.O.A.T. and more like the T.O.A.D (Terrible On Any Day).

Even before Sunday's performance, here's what they were saying about Purdy:

"He's got some balls out there," 49ers head coach Kyle Shanahan offered following last week's win over the Dolphins. "Forgive me for saying it that way."

"He’s got some cojones to him," George Kittle said. "If you’re not confident, guys feel that.” Kittle was later told that Shanahan was less euphemistic. “I can say that?” Kittle said. “Oh, he definitely has balls.” Deebo Samuel agreed in the same terms. "It takes nuts to call a timeout without Kyle calling it," the receiver said.

"In preseason he looked like he had some dog in him," 49ers star edge rusher Nick Bosa said. "I love his mindset, he's super tough." After all, complimenting the inner canine is just a more modern way of saying someone is ballsy.

"You ask anybody on the defense how I feel about him — how I’ve felt about him since training camp — and the way he goes about his business," Fred Warner said. "He's got that dawg in him."

All Super Bowl payouts are based on price at time bet is placed.
