Alexandr Dolgopolov

The ATP Australian Open odds were posted with Andy Murray and Rafael Nadal big favorites, but their opponents – Alexandr Dolgopolov and David Ferrer, respectively -  paying out handsomely should either win.

Murray and Nadal were both listed with -1000 odds, requiring a ridiculous $100 just to win $10.  Dolgopolov and Ferrer, on the other hand, would pay out $600 for every $100 bet with an upset.

The Ukrainian-born Dolgopolov made it into the quarter-finals by downing highly rated Robin Soderling.  As such, gamblers can only hope for another upset.

Ferrer got in with an upset over red hot Canadian Milos Raonic

The live kick off between Rafael Nadal and David Ferrer gets underway at 7:30 AM on 26 January, 2011 in the Quarter Finals of the Australian open.  That’s local Aussie time.
