SBG Global this weekend was offering odds on the 2010 Brickyard 400, which goes off Sunday, 1:00 pm Eastern – ESPN.

Jimmie Johnson is the favorite to win the Brickyard 400 on Sunday and deservedly so as he is the two-time defending race champion and he has also won the race in three of the last four years.  Gordon is +225 at SBG Global while Tony Stewart is the second choice at 7-1 followed by Denny Hamlin, Jeff Gordon and Kyle Busch at 7.5 to 1.

Gordon could be the one to watch on Sunday in this race that can be seen on ESPN.  He has won four times at the Brickyard and he holds the record for most laps led. He has nine top ten finishes in the race.  The Brickyard is almost always won by a big name driver.  That makes sense considering Gordon and Johnson have won seven of the 15 races.  In the past 14 years, the race has been won by a championship driver.  Also, in seven of the 15 races, the winner of this race went on to win the Sprint Cup Championship.

That last stat could bode well for Kevin Harvick who is the point’s leader. He is capable of having a good race and he is listed with odds of 10.5 to 1.  Also at 10.5 to 1 are Kurt Busch and Juan Pablo Montoya.  Busch has not done that well at Indianapolis but he is having a very good season and could break into the win column for Roger Penske on the NASCAR side at Indy. Montoya has a lot of experience at Indy and he probably would have won the race last year if not for a speeding penalty.

A driver who desperately needs a good run this week is Mark Martin.  He has not had a top 10 finish since May.  He won the pole in this race last year and finished second.  He has some appeal at longshot odds of 20.5 to 1.

Dale Earnhardt Jr. is still very popular but he doesn’t win.  He has been very poor at the Brickyard with only two top 10s and three DNFs.  Those three DNFS came in the past five years. Earnhardt Jr. is considered a longshot in NASCAR oddsat 31-1.  Also at 31-1 is David Reutimann and he should not be counted out since he is coming off a win.
