Champions League Final Betting

Gambling911.com would be remiss in pointing out that many a football fan lives in North America....and we're not talking about the NFL.

US and Canadian citizens alike will be looking to place bets on the 2009 Champions League Final between Barcelona and Manchester United.  As such, North American facing brands the likes of SBG Global will be offering Champions League betting though the options menu is somewhat limited compared to their UK counterparts, which were offering everything from correct score to who would get the first goal.

Manchester United will try and become the first team to defend its title as they play Barcelona in the 2009 Champions League Final on Wednesday in Rome, Italy. No team has won back-to-back titles since the competition changed its format for the 1992-1993 season.

The match on Wednesday features the top two soccer teams in the world as Manchester United is the top team in Europe while Barcelona is the top team in Spain.  The match also features two of the best players in the world as United has Cristiano Ronaldo while Barcelona has Lionel Messi. Both Manchester United and Barcelona are teams that have no obvious weaknesses.  That is what makes the Soccer Betting Champions League Final one of the most anticipated soccer matches in recent memory.

The difference in Wednesday's match could be the overall depth of United.  While Ronaldo gets a lot of the press the player that Barcelona is worried about is Wayne Rooney. "What I value most about the way United play is how hard players like Rooney work." Barcelona midfielder Andres Iniesta said, "He was filling in at left back against us last year in the semi-final. We cannot commit any mistakes because they have so much firepower up front.'"

A big key for Barcelona on Wednesday could be the health of Iniesta and Thierry Henry. "They both looked very good and very comfortable right from the start of the session (Monday)." midfielder Xavi said, "We now have them back with us and if nothing strange happens they will play the final."  Henry has scored 25 goals this season while Iniesta scored the game tying goal for Barcelona in their game against Chelsea.

Manchester United is expected to have Rio Ferdinand at full strength for Wednesday and he is a huge key on defense for United. "It's not the best situation," United manager Sir Alex Ferguson said, "He's very lucky that he's a natural athlete, so that gives us hope."

Defense is definitely a key for United since last year in the Champions League they shut out Barcelona twice in a 1-0 aggregate semifinal victory.

"Your concentration levels can't be allowed to falter for a second. But, with the right tactics, their game is containable." Ferguson said about Barcelona.
