College Basketball Betting Picks (From The Bookie)
Sports Interaction betting analyst Frank Doyle is fighting to keep his bearings in this season of upsets in College Hoops. Today he offers Gambling911.com his College Basketball betting picks.
It is very, very hard to remember a time in College Basketball when a national No 1 ranking made teams so vulnerable. Every week we've seen one bite the dust, and only last night Pittsburgh lost as an eight point favorite at Providence, which didn't look like it could beat a carpet before seven o'clock last night. Astonishing.
Will the same vulnerability extend to the Acting No 1 now the Panthers are dethroned? As UConn is a pretender to that throne it's an interesting question to ponder as the Huskies get set to visit Marquette. Connecticut has a perfect road record, one of the best coaches in the country and enough pride to make sure that they're not going to get pushed around again, but the Huskies really are hurting without Jerome Dyson, and Marquette is a much tougher proposition than South Florida was at the weekend. Marquette -1 with Sports Interaction is the pick.
Maryland got everybody's attention with that win over North Carolina on Saturday. It looked like the Terrapins had turned turtle for the season until they suddenly smacked the Tar Heels. Now the Terps are getting set to face Duke, the Blue Devils having humiliated them by forty-one points on January 24th.
So the question is which teams will turn up tonight? The Dukies who humiliated Maryland and won at Wake Forest, or the ones who lost to North Carolina and at Boston College? My dollar says that the Tar Heels had their minds elsewhere when they lost at Maryland, and Coach K will not let that happen his charges tonight. Duke -6 with Sports Interaction is the pick.
The Big 12 is proving quite contest this year, Oklahoma's two recent losses seeing the Sooners fall back among the chasing pack. Missouri is one of the really improved teams this year, but the Tigers have a tough home assignment tonight against Kansas State. Kansas is the big rivalry game for Missouri always, in any sport, but the Tigers would underestimate Kansas State at their peril.
Kansas State has turned around a poor conference start of four straight loses to go 7-1 since, with the only loss in those eight games coming at Kansas. It's hard to see Kansas State extending its road winning streak to five with a win at Mizzou tonight, but the Wildcats could be good enough to cover the number. Kansas State +9 at Missouri with Sports Interaction is the pick.
