While the online books have released odds on a Floyd Mayweather Jr. vs. Conor McGregor fight, the bout is yet to be scheduled, let alone guaranteed.

Mayweather was coming in as a huge -2000 favorite with McGregor offering the potential for a $1000 payout on every $100 bet.

The war of words got even more heated with Mayweather, Jr. referring to McGregor as “Conor McTapout”.  He also posted a video on Instagram of McGregor tapping out to Nate Diaz from their March fight at UFC 196.

The video ends with a screenshot of "49-0 vs. Connor [sic] the Notorious Quitter."

He would later post a faux interview with a man who mocked McGregor's Irish heritage.

The retired pound-for-pound boxing king offered $10,000 to the best caption posted about the video.

Though the marquee UFC fighter McGregor has obtained a boxing license in California, there is little indication that a fight is in sight.

"It's fun to talk about this [Mayweather] fight and what might happen, but what commission would let that fight happen? Really, think about that," UFC president Dana White told Yahoo! Sports earlier this month.
