BetOnline on Wednesday released odds for the potential fight, and Chimaev is a slight favorite against Covington.

UFC President Dana White said he is unsure about whether the match will actually take place.

“I’m in the middle,” White said in regard to who Chimaev is likely to fight. “What does he want to do? Where does he want to be and what does he want to do? Does he want to make 170 and go for the title at 170 or does he want to go to 185 and go for the title there?”

“That was the big debate we had today in the matchmaking meeting,” White later added. “One guy said one thing, one guy said another thing. Then I said, what does he really want? Somebody get in there and figure out what he really wants to do and let’s figure out and let’s make a fight.”

Chimaev was supposed to fight Nate Diaz at UFC 279 but weighed 7.5 pounds over the limit for the scheduled welterweight bout.

Additionally, there are still odds up for a possible bout between Covington and Dustin Poirier. Those odds opened back in March with Covington a -400 favorite and Poirier +300. The current numbers are below.

After some ups and downs since joining LIV Golf in late 2023, Rahm shot an impressive 4-under 67 in the third round on Saturday. This strong round put him tied for fifth place, just five shots behind the leader, Scottie Scheffler.
