There was optimism for Daddy Nose Best heading into the 2012 Kentucky Derby.
Gambling911.com noted at the time
Daddy Nose Best hd won his last two races at El Camino Real Derby and Sundland Derby heading into the Derby. Both of those were Grade 3 events. He placed 6th at the Grade 1 Breeders Cup Juvenile.
At the Kentucky Derby, Daddy Nose Best finished an abysmal 10th place.
The logic here is that the Preakness is a shorter track than the Kentucky Derby -- as the Derby is 1 and 1/4 miles, whereas the Preakness is 1 and 3/16 lengths and Daddy Nose Best's two winning performances were at 1 and 1/8 miles.
It was not known at press time who would ride Daddy Nose Best at the Preakness.
