Fantasy Hockey 2014 – Top Ranked Players

The NHL is back and never will this sport be so popular as 2014 with the unofficial introduction of Fantasy Hockey.

“We’ll be seeing a lot more people who were not Hockey fans before or who have never bet on hockey become fans of this sport thanks to the daily fantasy contests,” asserts Ean Lamb, Gambling911.com Hockey reporter.

First, you’ll need to get acquainted with some of the top ranked players in the NHL.

The top forwards include the likes of Sidney Crosby of Pittsburgh, Alex Ovechkin of Washington, Steven Stamkos of Tampa Ba, John Tavares of the New York Islanders, Claude Groux of Philadelphia and Corey Perry of Anaheim.

The top defensemen for Fantasy Hockey would be Erik Karlsson of Ottawa, Shea Weber of Nashville, P.K. Subban of Montreal and Kris Letang of Pittsburgh.

The top 5 goalies coming into this season that all fantasy players should give some consideration to are Tuukka Rask of Boston, Jonathan Quick of LA, Carey Price of Montreal, Henrik Lundquist of the New York Rangers and Pekka Rinne of Nashville.

Crosby is widely considered the best Hockey player in the world today and a “must have” for a first overall draft selection.

Stamkos is widely considered the second best fantasy pick after Cosby coming into this season.  He was averaging 0.63 goals per regular season contest.

Ovechkin last year led the league outright with 386 shots and 51 goals.

Tavares was averaging better than a point per game when his season ended.
