End of the Road for Sturm?
The recent results for Sturm have not been very good as he has lost two of his past three fights with the other one being a draw. Sturm comes into this fight with 39 wins but only 18 are by knockout so if he is to win this fight it will likely have to go the distance. Sturm was badly outworked in the last fight against Chudinov and only because of the favorable German judges did Sturm lose by split decision. Sturm had a long run as WBA middleweight champion but he rarely fought any top fighters. You can also make a case that he should have lost three of his 12 title defenses. Sturm probably doesn’t have enough at this stage in his career to defeat Chudinov but the fight is in Germany and it is not like Chudinov has beaten a lot of quality opposition in his career.

Chudinov Can’t Afford to Overlook Sturm
The big danger in this fight for Chudinov is that he overlooks Sturm. Chudinov won back in May and has since defended his WBA middleweight title by defeating Frank Buglioni. The win against Buglioni was really not impressive for Chudinov as he was hurt late in the fight before pulling out a decision. The middleweight division is really up for grabs as Chudinov could make a statement with another win over Sturm and then perhaps get a shot against WBO title holder Arthur Abraham.
