Geoff Ogilvy Odds to Win 2009 US Masters Golf Tournament
Among the biggest movers and shakers when it comes to odds of winning the 2009 US Masters Golf Tournament, none are more fluid than Geoff Ogilvy.
Gambling911.com couldn't help but notice that SBG Global initially had Geoff Ogilvy lumped in around +5000 odds. Geoff Ogilvy's odds to win the 2009 US Open Golf Tournament were now at +1100 odds for a payout potential of $1100 on every $100 bet. Apparently SBG has gotten some decent action on Ogilvy. This makes sense considering the Australian had won the 2006 US Open. Get 295 Percent in Bonuses When You Open An Account at SBG Global Today
Australian Ogilvy and US veteran Fred Couples headed a crowded leaderboard heading into the final round of the weather-disrupted Houston Open on Sunday and this no doubt also resulted in his odds being slashed.
Ogilvy and Couples were among six players who finished the third round on Sunday morning sharing the lead on 11-under-par 205.
The third round had been suspended because of darkness on Saturday evening - the after-effects of weather delays on Thursday. The final round began shortly after third-round play was complete.
Joining Couples (68) and Ogilvy (69) atop the leaderboard were England's Paul Casey (69), Ryan Moore (67), Colt Knost (69) and Bo Van Pelt (68).
"I can win the US Masters!" Ogilvy declared this week.
Geoff Ogilvy looms as a genuine threat to win the 73rd Masters, even if a considerable roadblock named Tiger Woods stands in the way, writes Andrew Both of The Age.
World No. 4 Ogilvy has been in sizzling form this year, already posting two victories on the US PGA Tour, and the Australian emanates an understated but substantial confidence going into the year's first major championship, starting tomorrow (Melbourne time).
"I've played well this whole year and I played quite well last week, so the game's all there," Ogilvy said.
"I'm probably playing as good or better than I have anywhere else before I've come to a major, so that's nice. I'm also putting well, and that's one of the keys around here.
"This is definitely one I think I can win. I feel reasonable about my chances, but I'm sure a lot of other guys feel pretty good about their chances too."
Sportingbet.com offered 18/1 odds of Geoff Ogilvy winning the 2009 US Masters Golf Tournament for those living in Australia and elsewhere outside the United States.
