Why do we like Tennessee? In home games after a non-conference game

their record against the spread is 13  Wins and 1  Losses  for the last three seasons.

Gonzaga did win a game back in November against Tennessee.  Sweet revenge coming?  We shall see.

From Yahoo Sports:

If there has been one common denominator in the three games Tennessee has lost, it is the shooting percentage the Volunteers have allowed their opponents to shoot.

Kansas became the fourth team shoot better than 50 percent from the field against the Vols. Three of them, including the defending national champion Jayhawks, came out winners over the Vols. Tennessee was able to overcome Georgetown's 53.1-percent shooting and beat the Hoyas.

Like Gonzaga and Temple before them, the Jayhawks took advantage of some cold Tennessee shooting to pull out the win. The Vols shot only 39.4 percent from the field, only the third time the Vols have been under 40 percent for a game.

"This is not a surprise to me," coach Bruce Pearl said of the loss. "The guys that have been around me locally know that this is the way it's been. That said, I'm hoping this one will serve us well.

"Kansas is an NCAA tournament team. It's hard to win on the road against NCAA Tournament teams. In our league last year we got a couple of road wins against NCAA Tournament teams late in the season. There's a difference there."

The Vols now are back home for a non-conference game against Gonzaga before opening their SEC card on the road at Georgia on Jan. 10.

Iowa State: Are They The Underdogs To Look For In March Madness?

They may be defined as “underdogs” or “Cinderella teams”, a term that is usually saved for teams that have little to no chance of winning even a single game during the NCAA Tournament. Teams like Loyola Marymount (1990), George Mason (2006), Davidson (2008), VCU (2011), UConn (2014), and Loyola Chicago (2018) come to mind when conversations turn toward the most surprising tournament runs in recent memory.
