Helio Castroneves odds of winning the 2016 Indianapolis 500 were set at 6.5-1. He was among the favorites to win.
Helio Castroneves the Indianapolis 500 in 2001, 2002 and 2009, making him one of only nine total drivers, and the only active driver, to have won at least three.
“I want people to see how much I love the sport,” Castroneves told USA TODAY Sports. “I want them to see my passion. I drive with my heart. When I’m upset, I’m upset. When I’m happy, I’m happy. I have no filter in terms of who I am. People see who I am, and I want people to know how passionate I am about racing.”
