Indy 500 Odds (2009): Payouts Could be Lucrative
Indy 500 odds for 2009 at SBG Global pay no less than $300 for every $100 bet, and that is just with the two favorites to win: Helio Castroneves (+300) and Scott Dixon (+350). From there we have Dario Franchiti paying $650 for every $100 bet and both Danica Patrick and Tony Kanaan paying $850 for every $100 bet.
Gambling911.com has noted that since Indy 500 odds were initially posted, Ryan Briscoe has leapt from +1000 odds to +500 for a payout potential of $500 on every $100 bet. Ryan Briscoe is Gambling911.com's "One to Watch" in the Indy 500 Sunday.
There are three drivers the New York Times has its eyes on as well.
Graham Rahal pays $1500 for every $100 bet at SBG. The New York Times points out that Rahal finished last in his first Indy 500 last year, but he has won two pole positions in four IndyCar Series races this year. He is in eighth place in the standings.
Then there is Will Power who, as a rookie, drove for KV Racing Technology, starting 23rd in his first Indy 500 last year and finishing 13th. He would pay a whopping $3000 for every $100 bet.
And finally, Paul Tracy, the 40-year old Canadian, finished second to Castroneves in the 2002 Indy 500.
Tracy passed Castroneves for what would have been the lead late in the race, but officials said a yellow flag had been waved. He hasn't raced in the Indy 500 since then. His odds this go around are +2000.
