Louisville came back from 14 down in the second half to come within a touchdown in the final two minutes, but Hunter Cantwell's interception with 33 seconds left ended any chance at forcing overtime.
Louisville entered the weekend as the fifth-best rushing defense in the country, but didn't leave it that high. Syracuse ran for 207 yards on the ground in its victory.
