The Bowl season opened on the weekend and kicks into high gear this week, with games every night except Christmas Day. And the only game involving two ranked teams has the No. 19 Utah Utes battling the No. 10 Boise State Broncos in the MAACO Bowl at Sam Boyd Stadium on Wednesday (8 pm ET, ESPN).

NCAA Football Odds at betED.com have the Broncos as 17-point favorites and the over/under total at 60.5. The matchup is in fact the only one pitting two ranked teams against one another until the No. 19 South Carolina Gamecocks take on the 23rd-ranked Florida State Seminoles in the Chick-fil-A Bowl on New Year’s Eve.

Boise State is 3-0 SU and 3-0 ATS in the past three meetings, with the last coming on Sept. 30, 2006, when the Broncos beat up the Utes 36-3 and covered as a 4.5-point road underdog. Utah beat the BYU Cougars 17-16 on Nov. 27, failing to cover as 7.5–point favorites.

The score was under the total of 50 points. Boise State beat the Utah State Aggies 50-14 at home on Dec. 4, also failing to cover as a whopping 40.5–point favorite. Utah was 10-2 SU and 7-4-1 ATS this season and Boise State was 11-1 SU, 8-4 ATS.
