Coming off a rookie year in which he racked up 1,341 yards, the Minnesota Vikings Adrian Peterson is Sportsbook.com's 3-1 co-favorite to lead the NFL in rushing. The main concerns for Peterson bettors are whether he can stay healthy and whether he can produce during the second half of the season.

During his first eight games, Peterson churned out an impressive 1036 yards. During the second half of the season he only mustered up 305 yards and missed two games due to injury. Considering he is running against an impressive offensive line in addition to the fact that the Vikings won't be relying on the pass too much, it is no wonder that Peterson has decent value at +300.

Sportsbook.com also has last year's leading rusher, LaDainian Tomlinson, handicapped at +300. Unlike Peterson, L.T. only got stronger as the season progressed. Surpassing the 100 yard mark in just two of his first eleven games, the San Diego back was able to run for triple digits in four out of his last five contests.

If you are looking for a bigger payout, there are a few running backs that offer very good value, including: the Packers' Ryan Grant and Willie Parker from the Steelers.

Grant came out of no where to solve Green Bay's rushing issues just before midyear and in doing so ran for 929 yards between weeks 8-17. With the unproven Aaron Rodgers under center, one would think that Grant's name will be called early and often in cheeseland. If this is the case, those betting on Grant will cash in on a huge profit of +2000.

Considering he was leading the NFL in rushing before going down with a season ending injury in Week 16, ‘Fast Willie' appears to be an afterthought by the cappers at Sportsbook.com. Held under 80 yards rushing in just three of his healthy 14 games, Parker offers outstanding value at +1500. Of course, the drafting of Rashard Mendenhall should eat into some of Parker's carries, especially around the goal line.
