MMA bettors gear up for UFC 118: Edgar vs. Penn 2
A highly anticipated Mixed Martial Arts rematch takes place this Saturday when Frank Edgar and B.J. Penn square off at UFC 118: Edgar vs. Penn 2 at the TD Garden in Boston.
Penn is a -325 moneyline favorite and Edgar a +250 underdog in MMA Betting at betED.com.
Penn will be trying to reclaim his UFC Lightweight championship title, which he lost to Edgar at UFC 112 on April 10.
Edgar defeated Penn at UFC 112 to become the fourth UFC Lightweight Champion, and he is currently the top-ranked lightweight MMA fighter in the world by Sherdog and MMAWeekly.
Edgar was selected as a nominee for Best Upset of the Year at the 2010 ESPY Awards, the annual sports awards show put on by ESPN in June.
Penn has held both the lightweight and welterweight UFC championship titles in the past, just the second fighter to win UFC titles in two different weight classes. He is ranked the No. 2 lightweight in the world by Sherdog.
One reason the Saturday bout is being so heavily hyped is the manner in which Edgar’s upset win at UFC 112 went down. The fight went back and forth before judges gave Edgar the win by unanimous decision.
Another fight on the main card at UFC 118 that’s getting lots of attention is a heavyweight bout between Randy Couture and James Toney. Couture is a -575 favorite and Toney is a +350 underdog in UFC 118 Odds.
