The Monte-Carlo Masters is an ATP tennis event that is held each year in Roquebrune-Cap-Martin, France. The event is an ATP World Tour Masters 1000 tournament. The tournament is held each year in the spring and played on clay courts. The event dates back to 1897 but became an open event in 1969.
Rafael Nadal and Novak Djokovic lead the field for the Monte-Carlo Rolex Masters which begins on Sunday. Nadal has won eight straight titles at this event until his streak was broken last year by Djokovic. This ATP World Tour Masters 1000 event will run from Sunday, April 13th through Sunday, April 20th. A field of 56 players will compete on the clay in Monte Carlo. Anything other than Nadal against Djokovic in the final would be a surprise.
