This NFL betting preview of the Atlanta Falcons vs. Minnesota Vikings game is courtesy of SBG Global where the line opened at Vikings -3.  This game goes off at 4:15 pm EST on Fox.  The total was 44.

The Minnesota Vikings can clinch their first division title since 2000 with a win on Sunday against the Atlanta Falcons.  The Vikings need a win this week or next week against the Giants or a Bears loss in either of their last two games to clinch the NFC North. "Coach wants us to go one game at a time, but of course we do think ahead a little bit," tight end Visanthe Shiancoe said. "But that is motivation. The thing is it's right there for the taking."

SBG Global reports that early NFL betting has the public taking Vikings at Home.

Minnesota is led by running back Adrian Peterson and a rejuvenated Tarvaris Jackson.  Last week in the win over Arizona, Jackson threw four touchdown passes and will get the start again this week against the Falcons.  The Vikings do have some bad news as nose tackle Pat Williams was injured against the Cardinals and is out.  His absence could be a problem since the Falcons have a very good rushing offense led by Michael Turner who is second in the league behind Peterson. "It's going to be great," Turner said, "The top two rushers in the league going at it."

The Falcons can clinch a playoff spot if they win and Tampa Bay loses and either Dallas or Philadelphia loses.  Atlanta hasn't made the playoffs since 2004 but they have a good chance to make it this season. "We just need to go out and play well," head coach Mike Smith said. "At the end of it, the league will tell 12 teams that they will get an opportunity to continue playing. That is how we have to look at it. I don't think we need to concern ourselves with any of the scenarios."

The Vikings defeated Atlanta 24-3 at home last season and they are 10-3 at home all-time against the Falcons.  Here are more NFL betting stats for Sunday's game. The Falcons are 2-5 ATS in their last 7 games in December. The Falcons are 0-7 ATS in their last 7 games on turf.

The Vikings are 2-5 ATS in their last 7 vs. the NFC. The Vikings are 1-4 ATS in their last 5 games in December. The favorite is 4-0 ATS in the last 4 meetings between the two teams.

SBG Global Current Line: Vikings -   3  ,  Total  44
