NFL: Giants Still Lead Super Bowl Odds
Sportsbook.com has updated its odds-to-win the Super Bowl before the Divisional Playoff round, and there are very few surprises.
The Super Bowl Odds found at Sportsbook.com for the four bye-week teams didn't change that much. The New York Giants still lead the way at +250, followed by the Pittsburgh Steelers (+400), Carolina Panthers (+500) and the Tennessee Titans (+600).
The Steelers were the only one of that group to change at all, going from +450 to +400. That's because San Diego beat Indianapolis and the Colts would have been a tougher second round opponent in the eyes of most.
The teams where the odds really changed a lot were the Wild-Card Weekend winners. That makes perfect sense of course as they now only have two games remaining to make it to the Super Bowl where anything can happen (see the 2007 Giants for a prime example).
In the AFC, Baltimore has dropped from +1200 to +700. It is hard for them to have looked much better then they did at Miami, and they have a great chance to beat the Titans outright even on the road.
San Diego had less of a drop, from +1000 to +800. The Chargers still have a tough game at Pittsburgh where they are almost a touchdown underdog as the team plays much better in sunny Southern California.
There is one very interesting note from a Chargers perspective. If they beat Pittsburgh and Baltimore beats Tennessee, San Diego will host the AFC Championship game. That's incredible for a team that looked dead in the water at 4-8 just a few weeks ago.
In the NFC, Philadelphia has been lowered from +1000 to +600. They looked very good against Minnesota last week and they have proven already they can beat the Giants in the Meadowlands.
Arizona was at +5000 odds last week and is down to +3000. That's still a large number, but understandable considering the fact they are double-digit dogs this week in Carolina.
If Arizona win this game and plays the Giants, then they will be a double-digit dog again. However, if Philly beats the Giants, Arizona can host the NFC Championship game which would be incredible in its own right.
