A Stanley Cup preview could be on tap Wednesday as the Detroit Red Wings host the Montreal Canadiens.  The Red Wings are the defending champs while Montreal is considered one of the top teams in the East.  Detroit has only lost twice in regulation all season, the fewest in the league.  They should get tested on Wednesday though by a very talented Montreal squad.
SBG Global reports that early hockey betting has the public taking  Red Wings at Home.

The Canadiens are definitely ready for the challenge on Wednesday.

"There's no way you can't get up for a game against them," said Montreal defenseman Francis Bouillon, "Anytime you face the defending Stanley Cup champions, it's an exciting challenge. There's something about facing elite teams that brings the best out in us and we will need it against a strong team like Detroit. They have quite an offense, but we've been doing the job defensively lately and we will be ready."  The difference in this game could be the play of the goaltenders.  So far this season Carey Price has been carrying the load for Montreal while Chris Osgood has started slowly, with the Detroit offense bailing him out most of the time.

Here are the hockey betting stats for Wednesday's game. The Canadiens are 5-1 in their last 6 Wednesday games. The Canadiens are 2-5 in their last 7 vs. the Central. The Canadiens are 2-5 in their last 7 overall. The Canadiens are 3-9 in the last 12 meetings between the two teams and the Canadiens are 1-4 in the last 5 meetings in Detroit.

The Red Wings are 47-9-1 in their last 57 Wednesday games. The Red Wings are 222-81-16 in their last 319 home games. The Red Wings are 37-14 in their last 51 overall. The Red Wings are 37-17-2 in their last 56 vs. the Eastern Conference.
