Odds to Win the 2009 World Series
With Major League Baseball getting underway this week, Gambling911.com has all the early odds to win the 2009 World Series as of April 6, 2009. Keep in mind, these odds are subject to change as the season progresses (in fact, they WILL change) so if you see a number you like, lock in that bet now at BetUS.com.
As always, all the usual suspects are early favorites including the New York Yankees and Boston Red Sox. It should be noted, however, that the team with the shortest odds, New York, would pay a minimum of $450 for every $100 bet.
When we examine these odds to win the 2009 World Series, note the plus (+) sign in front of the number. For example, we begin with the Arizona Diamondbacks at +2000. This means that for every $100 bet, the payout would be $2000 should Arizona go on to win the 2009 World Series. Atlanta has a number of +3000. This means that for every $100 bet, $3000 would be paid out should the Braves win the World Series, and so on. The Yankees, at +450, would pay $450 for every $100 bet should they win.
Baseball futures betting is among the most rewarding. There have been years in which over $100,000 has been paid out on teams that began the season with very long odds and even maintained that large price tag through mid-season (The Florida Marlins).
