Woods was seeing around 10 percent of the betting action as he hopes to win his first Masters in a number of years.
He’s already won three events this year.
Mickelson, a three-time winner, has had two top-10 finishes this year. He looks forward to playing in Augusta this week, claiming the course is less intimidating than in years past.
“These greens are softer than what we play week in and week out,” he said Tuesday. “They are slightly faster, but nothing scary like they used to be. Quite honestly, they have been softer the last five years than anything we play on tour other than Pebble. The fear factor has not been there, and I don’t anticipate them going back to the way we expect. I think it’s going to play soft.”
McIlroy, at 8-1 odds, has admitted that at this stage in his career, his resume doesn't measure up against Woods', who has 14 majors to McIlroy's 2.
McIlroy also insists there is no rivalry between he and Woods.
“No, not at all. I don’t see myself a rival to Tiger or to anyone,” McIlroy said at his Tuesday press conference. “Tiger obviously has been on Tour for 12 more years than me or something like that. When you speak of rivals, you tend to put rivals who have had similar success. He’s got 77 PGA Tour events; I’ve got six. He’s got 14 majors; I’ve got two. If I saw myself a rival to Tiger, I wouldn’t really be doing him much justice.”
