The victory was 1 shot over Rickie Fowler after pulling ahead of the early favorite to win Jordan Spieth with an 8-foot birdie putt at the 14th hole Sunday,  His total was a 15-under 273.

Rory McIlroy went into the round three shots off the lead, in good position to make a run at the career Grand Slam. But he stumbled to a 74 and finished six shots behind Reed.

It was not immediately known how many bets were placed on Reed at 45/1 odds.  Most of the early action was on Spieth and TIger Woods.
