Price Per Head Football Betting - Niners Without All-Pro Aldon Smith

Most Price Per Head Bettors who use WagerHome's sportsbook software for football wagering are already aware that the San Francisco 49ers will be less one All-Pro when they visit the St. Louis Rams this Thursday

And no one is exactly certain when Aldon Smith will be returning.

Smith was arrested last Friday morning when his car plowed into a tree in San Jose. He was found to be drunk, with marijuana discovered in his car. Aside from the charges themselves, there was the wrath of

teammates, coaches and management to worry about.

Niners' CEO Jed York had to make a decision as to whether to let Smith play this past Sunday against Indianapolis. Perhaps it was in the back of his mind that he didn't want the team to suffer because of Smith's grievous error. He decided to let him play, so that he could talk to his team and talk to the press. That was a controversial decision among fans and football bettors alike, and maybe the 49ers had that on their mind as they were beaten from pillar to post by the Colts.

After losing two games in a row for the first time since Jim Harbaugh became the head coach, the Niners head to St. Louis as a three-point road favorite for Price Per Head football bettors to ponder. And they

are now +850 in WagerHome.com's NFL futures to win the Super Bowl. Does this affect whether you would bet them in those futures? Let us know - http://www.twitter.com/wagerhome

What is the long-range effect here? After all, Smith is known as a premier pass rusher, and was named All-Pro last season. But all indications are that he has a genuine problem. Police acknowledged that

he was apprehended at 7 AM. And it was not his first time caught drunk behind the wheel; a previous arrest in Miami Beach was later pleaded down to a reckless driving charge. An infamous party at his home led to him being stabbed and two people being shot. He is facing civil suits. He is a mess.

Pay Per Head bettors may have been asking themselves how this guy went through the last six games of the season (including post-season) without a sack. Maybe there is something of an explanation now.

He says he is going to "fix" this. York has said that one of the reasons he let Smith play is that he was going to seek treatment following the game. Anybody in our PPH betting audience knows that rehabilitation is a process, and that process takes time. Aldon Smith is not going to walk out of a facility in a week or two and be "cured." So if WagerHome pro football bettors are expecting that he'll be in the

lineup in a couple of weeks, either there is wishful thinking at work or not much of a rehab program going on.
