Randy Couture a slight dog for UFC 91 at betED.com
Randy Couture is a slight underdog in betED.com MMA Betting Odds heading into his UFC heavyweight championship bout against Brock Lesnar on Saturday.
Couture, who hasn't fought since August, 2007, is a -105 underdog to successfully defend his heavyweight championship title at UFC 91 at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas. Lesnar is a -115 favorite.
Also on the card at UFC 91 is a lightweight bout featuring Joe Stevenson taking on Kenny Florian. betED.com has Florian as a -170 favorite and Stevenson a +150 dog.
In his last fight at UFC 74, Couture (16-8) defended his title against Gabriel Gonzaga, who had beaten Mirko "Cro Cop" Filipovic at UFC 70 to become the No. 1 challenger. Couture beat Gonzaga by TKO to remain heavyweight champ, but suffered a broken left arm after blocking one of Gonzaga's kicks.
In the following months, Couture, 45, got into a legal battle with the Ultimate Fighting Championship and announced that he was leaving the UFC, despite being under contract for two more fights. The matter was resolved over the summer, and Couture signed a three-fight deal with the UFC.
Lesnar (2-1), a former WWE champion, fought his first UFC bout last February at UFC 81, forcing a submission on former heavyweight champion Frank Mir.
Lesnar was then scheduled to fight another former heavyweight champ, Mark Coleman, at UFC 82. But Coleman withdrew because of a training injury and Lesnar fought Heath Herring, winning by unanimous decision.
The winner of UFC 91 will go on to fight the winner of UFC 92's Nogueira versus Mir bout, for the Undisputed UFC Heavyweight Championship.
The Lesnar-Couture bout starts at 11:30 pm ET and is available on PPV.
