Sam Stosur and Rafael Nadal were the odds-on favorites to win in the French Open tennis finals.
The tennis betting season is just heating up as we are almost through the French Open and we'll be eyeing Wimbledon shortly at Sportsbetting.com (see website here). She's dominated most of her matches and while she's been a tad shaky putting opponents away, she's proven her mettle in sealing the deal after showing some nerves. As surprising as her run has been, who would have envisioned Schiavone in the finals? Schiavone is one of the rare Italians to ever make a Grand Slam final and with a win tomorrow, she'll be the first to triumph.
On the men's side, the big surprise is that Roger Federer will not be in the finals but the French Open odds clearly favor the clay court king, Rafael Nadal. He'll become the world's No. 1 ranked player with a win at Roland Garros and it will be sweet revenge for him as well as he takes on the only man to ever beat him in Paris, Robin Soderling.
Nadal has yet to even drop a set in this tournament and while Soderling has impressed, he is off a five-set matchup with Tomas Berdych in the semifinals.
Revenge will be squarely on the mind of Nadal and he should punish Soderling for last year's loss. Expect Rafa to regain his crown at Roland Garros and on the women's side, look for Stosur to win as expected.
