Strikeforce: Frank Shamrock vs. Nick Diaz betting odds were available online but not at all Internet gambling venues. Those that did offer a line had Shamrock as the -175 favorite. Sportsbook.com featured a somewhat reduced line of -165. The best payout on Diaz was $145 for every $100 bet at Bookmaker.com
Diaz has raised a few eye brows by openly admitting he uses marijuana and plans to smoke some before Saturday's fight.
"I'm more consistent about everything being a cannabis user," Diaz said in an interview with The Times last week. "I'm happy to get loaded, hear some good music . . . I remain consistent. And I have an easy way to deal with [the drug tests].
"I can pass a drug test in eight days with herbal cleansers. I drink 10 pounds of water and sweat out 10 pounds of water every day. I'll be fine."
This will be the first Strikeforce event to air on Showtime since predecessor Elite XC folded last year.
