When it comes to betting on the 2009 Super Bowl, payout possibilities can be huge depending on the wager and winning margin bets offer some of the best payouts.

Winning margin bets features odds on a winning range per team.  For example, Pittsburgh winning by 1 to 5 points would pay out $350 for every $100 bet at Sports Interaction.  The favorite though is a Steelers victory by 6 to 10 points.  That one pays slightly less ($300 for every $100 bet).

The Arizona Cardinals winning by 1 to 5 points pays double what Pittsburgh does - $600 for every $100 bet.

"All of these Super Bowl winning margin bets pay good money, even the favorites," commented Don Shapiro of Gambling911.com.  "None of these bets pays under $300, assuming a $100 bet."

Looking at the last 5 years, 3 of those 5 years featured Super Bowls that were won by 3 points, which would certainly explain why a 3 point win by the favorite has some of the shortest odds.

But how about the odds on three consecutive Super Bowls where the game was won by a field goal?

"It's never happened," said Shapiro.  "But even more startling, prior to the last five years where we had three field goal wins, there was only one other three point win in Super Bowl history."

28 of 42 Super Bowls were won by double digits so  those payout odds are among the best.

Remember, the odds below are based on a $100 bet but you can wager as little as $10.  If odds are listed at +350, a $10 bet would pay out $35 at Sports Interaction.  You can bet more than $100 also.
