Texas Can't Afford to Look Ahead vs. Colgate in Potential Showdown Against Aggies
Austin may not be home to any professional sports teams, but the city is primetime when it comes to college sports programs. The Texas Longhorns play here, and they have made quite a name for themselves in college basketball over the years (not to mention football of course). Right now all eyes are on the Longhorns college basketball team.
Across all sports, in fact, the University of Texas at Austin teams have earned an amazing 51 national championships since 1949 while claiming more Big 12 Conference titles than any other school since the league began in 1996.

There is a very good chance the Longhorns (26-8 Straight Up, 17-17 Against The Spread) will be playing in-state rival Texas A&M this coming weekend. First, both teams have to get passed their opponents. That's likely for Texas but the Aggies will have a tougher time.
Texas faces off against No. 15 seed Colgate (26-8 SU, 17-16 ATS) in the early round.
"Colgate will be on our minds, and that's what we're going to start working on," Interim Longhorns head coach Rodney Terry said.
Texas has talented senior guard Marcus Carr leading the team in scoring at 15.9 points per game and Sir'Jabari Rice right behind him. Rice has five 20-point games in the Longhorns' last 13 outings.
The Aggies will be playing a much better Penn State their first game of the Big Dance as a -2.5 favorite.

Longhorns Football Update
Arch Manning is set to be in a Longhorns uniform as the No. 1 overall recruit in the country. Texas pays out as much as $2500 on a $100 bet to win the College Football Playoff Championship.
Manning will be embroiled in a closely watched quarterback battle with Quinn Ewers.
Consistency among the staff will be here as the Longhorns offensive coordinator, defensive coordinator and special teams coordinator will be returning for their third year. This wasn't the case for the previous 13 years with coaching instability.
Texas finished third in the Big 12 last season with a 6-3 record and failed to crack the Top 25.
