Rupert Wyman of WH notes that Bjorn is the only player in the event that has been victorious more than once. He is a veteran of the Tour and he has won twice in the last two seasons.

“There is still plenty of life in the great Dane and he may be in the twilight of an illustrious career but he has still got it!”

For his part, Bjorn seems ready.

“I need to get back to playing the sort of golf I was playing at the start of this year.  If I can, there's no reason why I can't pick up good results and get myself back in the world's top 50."

Martin Kaymer comes into the event a 14/1 favorite.  His German homeland host the 2011 BMW International Open.

Other players Wyman is paying special attention to:  Nick Dougherty at 150/1 odds and Shane Lowry at 50/1.

Regarding Dougherty:  “He has not won another tour event since the victory and he has failed to make the cut in thirteen events in this year's Race to Dubai. He should improve at some point soon.”

Regarding Shane Lowry:  “(He) has two top-10 finishes in his last four events and his only European Tour victory came in a low-scoring tournament.

“He came tied-17th at the event last year and he was let down by a seventy-four in his opening round. He has the ability to score very low and his sixty-three in the third round at the Iberdrola Open recently is highly impressive.

“Shane Lowry won the Irish Open in 2009 and it was claimed by Ross Fisher (28/1) the following year.  They both won the event with low scores and Ross Fisher is a golfer that has always won low scoring events.”
