Tiger Woods Long Odds to win 2011 Omega Dubai Desert Classic
Tiger Woods odds to win the 2011 Omega Dubai Desert Classic were posted at +490 or nearly 5/1, with a payout potential of $49 on every $10 bet.
Woods, for the first time in the last decade, is not favored in a major golf tournament. Instead, that honor goes to Rory McIlroy (paying just over 3/1 odds). Martin Kaymer is favored to win over Woods as well at +475 odds.
“I feel a lot more comfortable coming into this week,” Wooeds said in Dubai on Wednesday.
Kaymer warns not to underestimate Tiger Woods: “At the moment, Lee and me, we are No. 1 and 2, but in every golfer's mind, (Woods) is the best player in the world.
“He is struggling a little bit, but he can still win every week. He doesn't need to be in his top form to win a golf tournament.”
Lee Westwood, incidentally, was posted with longer odds than Woods at +750 (paying $75 for every $10 bet with a win).
