Tiger Woods was among the favorites to win the 2012 AT&T Pebble Beach with odds of  +425 at BetDSI.com with a payout potential of $40.25 on every $10 bet. (updated betting odds available here).

Padraig Harrington (at 40/1 odds) predicted that the much healthier Woods could finish strong at this year’s event.

"I've played with him and the way he hits the golf ball, there wouldn't be very many players who wouldn't want to hit the golf ball like him," Irishman Harrington told reporters Wednesday.

"I'd be still backing him to beat Jack's record, absolutely. If he turns up and plays well, he's going to win. He's in the position that he knows his best game is a winning game."

Woods appears to be getting back into form after some abysmal appearances in recent years that followed in the wake of a public personal downfall.   He enjoyed his first victory in two years at this past December’s limited-field Chevron World Challenge.

Additionally, Woods finished third at the Australian Open and enjoyed a solid Presidents Cup performance.

His tie for third at the European Tour event gives him a run of three consecutive top-3s in stroke-play events.

"Even though I lost, I was very pleased with the [fact] that was my bad day of ballstriking, and it wasn't that bad," Woods said.
