Tiger Woods Now Pays $450 With US Masters Win
Everyone is sitting at the edge of their seats awaiting Tiger Woods grand comeback at this week's US Masters, especially sports bettors who stand to win $450 for every $100 bet. Those were the latest odds being offered up by Sports Interaction, the first online gambling website licensed in Canada. Other books had him paying as little as $200 (2/1 odds).
Tiger Woods return comes just months after he crashed his car into a tree. Almost immediately, nearly a dozen women came forward to declare they were "sexually involved" with Woods at one point. He later admitted to infidelity and vowed to leave golf "indefinitely".
Tiger returned to Augusta on Monday. Woods is set to participate in a news conference -- his first since the scandal broke -- at 2 p.m. ET after practicing in the morning at the Augusta National Golf Club.
"The mental challenge that is facing Tiger Woods as he returns to Augusta National and then afterwards at other PGA Tour events, we can assume, later on in the 2010 season, is probably something that no other golfer has ever faced before," said David Dusek, deputy editor of Golf.com.
Woods was likely to be tightly shielded from any heckling while playing at this week's Masters.
Phil Mickelson and Ernie Els each had the next shortest odds and would pay $1100 and $1200, respectively, with a win.
