With the New England Patriots a favorite to win the 2009 Super Bowl along with the Dallas Cowboys - both were listed around 3/1 odds, it remained to be seen how the odds would shift with quarterback Tom Brady sustaining an injury early in the game.

It was the Patriots worst nightmare and perhaps the "Super Bowl curse" kicking in whereby the losing Super Bowl team typically goes on to perform below expectations the following season. Many expected the Patriots to be the team that could break that curse. But things looked very scary early on with Brady walked off the field.

Brady limped off the field in the first quarter of Sunday's game against the Kansas City Chiefs.

Brady remained on the turf after he was hit in the left leg by Chiefs safety Bernard Pollard. There was no immediate announcement on his injury or his status.

Brady had completed a 26-yard pass to Randy Moss, who fumbled the ball away when he was tackled. Backup Matt Cassel took over at the start of the next series.

New England was a huge favorite to win the AFC East at -900. All other teams in the division would pay out handsomely as seen below and courtesy of SBG Global though these odds were subject to change dramatically depending on how serious Brady's injury is.

Remember, once a bet is made, those odds are locked in so it is important to start placing your early future bets this week.
