UFC 131 Odds
The latest UFC 131 odds were currently available for all fights on Saturday night’s card.
Junior Dos Santos was a -160 favorite vs. Shane Carwin at +150.
Make no mistake about it, UFC 131 is all about Dos Santos vs. Carwin. The winner of this fight will have a shot at Cain Velasquez and the Heavyweight title.
For those of you expecting a brutal bout between these two Saturday night, don’t hold your breath.
"A lot of the consuming public that likes fights and likes MMA tends to want to see the aggression," says dos Santos. "But I like being the nice guy. I think that the time for big, aggro, macho men has passed. Fighting now prioritizes intelligent fighters with a lot of strategy and a lot of preparation, who fight smart."
Dave Herman came in at -200 vs. Jon Olav Einemo, who was listed at +170.
Demian Maia was listed as near even odds vs. Mark Munoz.
Diego Nunes was at +250 vs. Kenny Florian, who was close to a -500 favorite at some online sportsbooks. Florian will be the only UFC fighter in history to compete in four different classes.
An injury caused Florian to gain weight and now he has been on a very strict diet.
"I was at my heaviest that I have been," Florian said in an interview with MMA Junkie. "Going from doing something two or three times a day to nothing for two months, you're going to gain weight. That was the toughest part. I had to start my diet so much earlier. I had to be very, very disciplined."
Donald Cerrone is at -500 odds vs. Vagner Rocha at +300.
Aaron Rosa vs. Joey Beltran was a near even odds affair.
Dustin Poirier was at -350 vs. Jason Young at +300.
Chris Weidman came in at -340 vs. Jesse Bongfeldt at +270. Many books at Weidman at -500.
Sam Stout vs. Yves Edwards was near even odds for their UFC 131 fight.
