Stephen Thompson vs. Brandon Thatch – Welterweight
Thompson (10-1) has black belts in karata, Brazilian jiu-jitsu and kickboxing and while he would love a crack at Brown, who handed him his lone pro MMA loss, Thatch will do just fine as Thompson tries to move up the ladder at 170 pounds. However, Thatch (11-1) is no slouch with stoppages in his first two UFC fights and he is as good standing up as he is on the mat. Thatch is also a Denver native, so he’ll have the crowd on his side.
Max Holloway vs. Cole Miller – Featherweight
Holloway (11-3) has won four straight since losing two in a row, and he has a kickboxing background but isn’t afraid to go to the ground. Miller (21-8) will look to this fight there as he has a BJJ black belt and has won the “Submission of the Night” award four times in the UFC. He has won two straight fights and this will be important for a 145-pound division in which moving up can be quick.
Neil Magny vs. Kiichi Kunimoto – Welterweight
Magny (13-3) was born in Brooklyn, but fights out of Arvada, Colorado, and while he is a wrestler, he has added jiu-jitsu to his arsenal and also has KO power in his striking. Kunimoto (18-5-2, 1 NC) is a tough customer that has won seven in a row, including his first three in the UFC, and he is known for his submission game, so this could be a very cagey clash on the ground.
Dan Kelly vs. Patrick Walsh – Middleweight
Kelly (8-0) has won his first eight pro-MMA bouts and seven have been stoppages; five via submission, two by TKO or KO. This will be the first time that the former Olympic judo artist from Australia will fight on American soil as he made his UFC debut in his home country. Walsh (5-1) won his UFC debut and is also looking to move up in the 185-pound class, but he’ll have his hands full with the Aussie judoka
Michel Prazeres vs. Kevin Lee – Lightweight
Prazeres (18-1) suffered his first pro loss in his UFC debut but has bounced back to win two in a row. This will be his first time-fighting in the United States as Prazeres has fought twice in his home country of Brazil, and once in Toronto as he brings his submission game to the States. Lee (9-1) is a wrestler with strong submissions, but he might want to avoid that plan against Prazeres.
Ray Borg vs. Chris Kelades – Flyweight
Borg (7-1) recovered from a loss in his UFC debut by picking up a win in his next fight, and five of his seven wins have come via submission. Kelades (8-1) is a well-rounded Canadian out of Nova Scotia who picked up a win in his first UFC bout, and these two will look to put on a show in a wide-open 125-pound division.
