The 2009 US Masters Golf tournament has come to a close with Angel Cabrera winning and paying out $11,000 for every $100 bet.

There was a sudden death three man playoffs between Chad Campbell (promising an $11,000 payout for every $100 bet), Kenny Perry (promising an $8000 payout) and Angel Cabrera (promising a $14,000 payout).  Campbell was the first to go.  The final showdown was between Argentine golfer Cabrera and the elder (late 40's) Perry.  In the end it was Cabrera who won it.

For gamblers, this US Masters was promising one of the biggest payouts in history.  .These odds were courtesy of Sportsinteraction.com - Click Here which currently had odds posted on who would win the 2009 Ryder Cup and the 2009 British Open.

Chad Champbell -  would pay out $11,000 for every $100 bet.

Kenny Perry -  would pay out $8000 for every $100 bet.

Angel Cabrera -  would pay out $14000 for every $100 bet.

Tiger Woods was the initial favorite and he was threatening much of Sunday with odds that had gone from even to +1400 by Sunday morning.

"Whomever was going to win the 2009 US Masters was going to pay out big," said Don Shapiro of Gambling911.com.  "This US Masters just illustrates why betting on these golf tournaments can prove lucrative."

Bookmakers did not want Tiger Woods to win nor Phil Mickelson.  Tiger was the favorite with an estimated 50 percent or more of the bets typically going his way.  Mickelson was the next best alternative.
