The odds were as follows (as of Friday morning, day before fight):
Timothy Bradley +185
Manny Pacquiao -220
Round 10.5 over -245
This promises to be one of the better boxing matches we have seen in some time and certainly among the more anticipated.
Manny Pacquiao 55-5-2, 38 knockouts
Pacquiao has fought just twice in the past couple of years as he lost to Juan Manuel Marquez in late 2012 while he defeated Brandon Ross late last year. There is no debating the greatness of Pacquaio but his time may have passed. Even Pacquiao has admitted it won’t be easy to defeat Bradley this time.
"No one has ever defeated Tim Bradley during his professional career. I want to be the first name in his loss column. It will not be easy. Nothing at the world championship level is easy. I still have the hunger and the desire to win and I appreciate Tim Bradley giving me this rematch to prove it.” Pacquiao said.
Pacquiao's advisor Michael Koncz has suggested that mounting pressure on Pacman to prove he’s an elite fighter will require him to make a statement with this fight, not just win it.
"I do believe that we do have to have a spectacular win here," Koncz said. "Not necessarily a knockout but a shutout in order to prove to the people that he is at the top."
Timothy Bradley 31-0-1, 12 knockouts
Bradley has said that the only way he will lose this fight is if Pacquaio knocks him out. He also said that Pacquiao has lost the hunger to fight. "The hunger he is looking for is no longer there. It's gone. It's not there any more. I truly believe that the killer instinct is not there.” Bradley said, “He is a tremendous fighter, but he is not the same. If you do not knock me out, Manny, you are not going to win."
