You've heard of a heat map, how about a HATE map.  The WNBA had an opportunity to explode in popularity with some fresh star blood coming in from the uber popular college level.  How's that working out?

The graphic below is based on X data (tweets) in the last month (start of WNBA season to now) tracking negative sentiment tweets toward the top WNBA players. For example, "Caitlin Clark sucks," "I hate Caitlin Clark," "Caitlin Clark is horrible," "Caitlin Clark is overrated," etc.

As you can see from the graphic, there is a clear "villain" in the WNBA according to fans, and that is Angel Reese of the Chicago Sky (formerly LSU). She has the most negative sentiment by far, and is followed by fellow Sky teammate Chennedy Carter, almost certainly due to her cheap shot on fan favorite Caitlin Clark during their last matchup.

Clark also has her fair share of "haters" as she comes in at #3... possibly from fans of Angel Reese, or WNBA fans who think she is overexposed (keep in mind this is ONLY tracking negative sentiment... Reese and Clark likely have a ton of positive sentiment tweets as well).

Also interesting to note that several of Clark's Indiana Fever teammates are getting a lot of negativity (such as Aliyah Boston and Kelsey Mitchell) likely from new Indiana Fever fans (and Caitlin Clark fans) unhappy with how the season is currently going.
