We could probably see this coming a mile away, the consensus of sports handicappers and gamblers were all over the Golden State Warriors to win against the Sacramento Kings.  We've seen this show again and again, however.  The big public favorite falls short.

That's exactly what transpired Tuesday night as Golden State didn't just lose to Sacramento, they got their asses kicked. The final score was 118-94.

Keegan Murray scored 32 points, De'Aaron Fox added 24 and the Kings stayed alive in the play-in tournament, eliminating the Warriors with a 118-94 victory on Tuesday night.

“We knew what was on the line,” Fox said. “This was just another obstacle in our way. We have to get over this hump. Obviously, losing to this team last year and obviously facing this team now, it’s like, of course we have to face this team.”

The loss kept Golden State out of the playoffs for the third time in the past five seasons, including two eliminations in the play-in tournament.  Steph Curry finished with 22 points for Golden State.

Now we're left pondering where Curry will end up next.  The oddsmakers at BetOnline have him as a 2-1 favorite to be playing with the San Antonio Spurs.   One reason: Social media viewership numbers indicate that Spurs center Victor Wembanyama found himself in the top 3 most watched players alongside LeBron James and Curry.

TheAlamo's Jahill Williams writes of Wembanyama: "It's hard to fathom a center whom people argue over whether he is seven-foot-three, four, or five, moving like a point guard with elite passing skills and a pull-up jumper so smooth you see Kevin Durant similarities in him. People are watching. They are intrigued."

And it could be the Steph wants to play along side such a superstar.

But SI.com's Joey Linn earlier this year noted that "Curry is one of very few NBA players who will likely never be traded, and will stay on one team their whole career. This is part of what makes Curry such a legend, because he built the Warriors into the dynasty they became, and plans to remain there his entire NBA career."

The LA Lakers are listed with the second shortest odds at 4-1.
