Battle of the Sexes Tennis

One of the most queried betting markets coming into Sunday morning is the "Battle of the Sexes" tennis match between Nick Kyrgios and Aryna Sabalenka.

BetOnline has Sabalenka promising a payout of US$360 for every US$100 bet and Nick Kyrgios priced steep at -500.  A spread is available that has Kyrgios at -4.5.

The prediction market Kalshi was showing volume of just over $200,000 just 11 hours ahead of the match.

Yet at Gambling911.com, the "Battle of the Sexes" rivaled the most wagered on game of Sunday's NFL slate, the Seahawks at the Panthers.  Three of Saturday's football games (college and NFL) were just barely beating out traffic for Sunday's early tennis showdown.   "Battle of the Sexes" was the 7th most searched topic on the G911 website as of Saturday.

The exhibition between Kyrgios and Sabalenka offers a modern, rule-adjusted take on the 'Battle of the Sexes' concept. Unlike the historic 1973 match—where Billie Jean King's decisive win over Bobby Riggs on a standard court became a pivotal moment in the fight for tour equality and equal pay—this contest is purely a spectacle, separate from the official tours.

Of course, where there are two or more competing, no matter what their genders, there will be wagering. BetOnline.ag has set odds for the match, and also created a few interesting prop bets surrounding the spectacle.
