Harris Odds Slashed to +325 on News Biden Camp Assessing Her Chances vs. Trump
The Biden campaign is reportedly conducting internal assessments to gauge the viability of Vice President Kamala Harris as a candidate against Donald Trump in the upcoming election. NBC News was among the first to confirm these reports. This move comes amid growing concerns within the campaign and among Biden's allies about his chances of winning. Several of Joe Biden's closest allies, including three people directly involved in re-election efforts, have expressed doubts about Biden's ability to recover from current challenges and have suggested that he should consider stepping aside. Polls show a tight race between Biden and Trump, with some indicating a slight lead for Harris over Trump in a hypothetical matchup.
BetOnline slashed her odds nearly in half over the last 12 hours on the news, from +700 to +325. Biden, meanwhile, fell back down to +650. Trump still sat favored at -185.

More Sportsbook Apps Enter Washington DC Market, Sort of
With the approval of the Washington, D.C. budget, BetMGM and Caesars Sports will soon join the party in the district, launching their sports betting apps Monday, July 15.
The district was previously home to a disastrous sports betting monopoly courtesy of Intralot's deal with a local contractor.
FanDuel replaced said contractor and became the sole operator here through a new exclusive deal with the lottery.
They still have much of DC to themselves.
BetMGM and Caesars Sportsbook can only offer online sports betting to customers within a two-block radius of their retail sportsbooks at Nationals Park and Capital One Arena, respectively. This is really no different than the retail-only sports betting found in states like Washington, Mississippi and Wisconsin where mobile wagering is available on property. The DC deal only expands this concept by a few blocks.
DraftKings, Fanatics have both expressed interest in joining the Washington, D.C. market.

USA Coach Gregg Berhalter Fired After Copa América Failure
The U.S. Men's National Team posted a job opening for "head coach" on LinkedIn the other day.
Ok, maybe they haven't gone to that extreme (although reading the job description would be amusing), but the soccer squad desperately needs a leader to take its talent to the next level.
BetOnline set odds for who will be the next coach of the USMNT. The odds are tight with eight candidates carrying 10/1 odds or better.
Longshots on the board include David Beckham, Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi.
By Wednesday evening, this all came to fruition.
Gregg Berhalter has been fired as manager of the United States men's national team, effective immediately, the U.S. Soccer Federation confirmed Wednesday.
The announcement comes in the wake of the team's poor showing at the 2024 Copa América, in which the hosts failed to get past the group stage after defeats to Uruguay and Panama.
The decision to remove Berhalter was made by U.S. Soccer sporting director Matt Crocker after a 10-day review process, which included consultations with president Cindy Parlow Cone, CEO JT Batson, vice president of sporting Oguchi Onyewu and members of the board of directors.
"I want to thank Gregg for his hard work and dedication to U.S. Soccer and our Men's National Team," Cone said in a statement. "We are now focused on working with our Sporting Director Matt Crocker and leveraging his experience at the highest levels of the sport to ensure we find the right person to lead the USMNT into a new era of on-field success."
"The Copa América result is extremely disappointing and I take full responsibility for our performance," Berhalter said in his own statement. "Our approach and process was always focused on the 2026 World Cup and I remain confident that this group will be one of the great stories in 2026."
Crocker will lead the search for Berhalter's replacement and has started the process.
"U.S. Soccer is committed to doing what is necessary to ensure our success on the pitch and we are dedicated to fostering a culture that leads to winning," Crocker said in a statement. "Our immediate focus is on finding a coach who can maximize our potential as we continue to prepare for the 2026 World Cup, and we have already begun our search process."

FanDuel Fined for Taking Bets on April Fool’s Day on Events That Happened a Week Prior
ATLANTIC CITY, N.J. (Associated Press) — It might have seemed too good to be true, but there it was, and on April Fool’s Day, no less: One of the country’s leading sports books was taking bets on mixed martial arts fights that had already happened a week earlier.
FanDuel accepted 34 bets on the fights that were promoted by the sports book as live events scheduled to take place on April 1, 2022.
But the fights had actually taken place a week earlier, on March 25.
New Jersey gambling regulators fined FanDuel $2,000 for the mistake, and the company paid out over $230,000 to settle the bets.
FanDuel declined comment Wednesday on the fine, which it agreed to pay.
But the state Division of Gaming Enforcement said in a letter made public on Monday that FanDuel said it was not notified by its data-feed providers that the Professional Fighters League matches were actually a recording of events that had already happened.
Instead, FanDuel’s trading team manually created betting markets based on information they obtained directly from the Professional Fighters League, New Jersey Deputy Attorney General Gina DeAnnuntis wrote.
“FanDuel confirmed that its traders failed to confirm with PFL that the event had previously occurred and was being presented via a tape delay,” she wrote.
FanDuel told the state that on April 1, 2022, it took 26 online wagers and eight retail wagers worth $190,904 on the events.
Afterwards, FanDuel received a notification from the International Betting Integrity Association, which monitors sports betting transactions, looking for suspicious activity or out-of-the-ordinary patterns, that the events it was offering odds on had already happened.
FanDuel paid off the wagers in the amount of $231,094, according to the state.
The fine from New Jersey regulators was imposed on Jan. 2 but not made public until this week. The state also required FanDuel to update its internal controls to prevent such events from happening in the future.
It was not the first time a sports book operating in New Jersey mistakenly took bets on something that had already happened.
In 2021, 86 gamblers put down bets on a British soccer game that had already happened the day before. The bets were voided, and New Jersey regulators fined the Malta-based sports betting technology company Kambi Group and Chicago-based Rush Street Interactive $1,000 apiece. In that case, the companies had offered a so-called proposition or “prop” bet on whether Manchester United’s Marcus Rashford would score a goal in a May 13, 2021, soccer game between Manchester United and Liverpool. (He did.)
But because a Kambi trader located in England mistakenly entered a start date of May 14 for the game, it enabled people to place bets on the event after it had ended when it was known that Rashford had already scored.
Last week, New Jersey regulators revealed that they had fined DraftKings, another major national sports book, $100,000 for reporting inaccurate sports betting data to the state.
