Odunze's Total

Huskies Rome Odunze was coming in with the biggest total at 95.5 as the consensus All-American wide receiver.

Odunze last week broke the Washington receiving yards record for the first half of the playoff game versus Texas with four receptions for 84 yards.

Odunze entered the day with 1,428 yards, just 26 yards shy of Reggie Williams’ total in 2002.  He entered the halftime break with 1,512 yards on the season.

Odunze credits Huskies quarterback Michael Penix Jr. for helping transform him into one of the most prolific skill position players in the game today.

“It comes through doing it in practice,” Odunze said before the Sugar Bowl, “and doing it outside of practice even, when he (Penix) is throwing passes to me and all the receiver corps, and combining that with the work sessions, being able to come in and get those passes and get more familiar with one another. It leads into the games, which continues to build more and more confidence in one another. So, at this point, we've built that connection with one another.”
