The LSU Tigers are favored to win 6 or fewer games in 2022.

There continues to be a huge amount of turnover on LSU's roster ever since they won the title in 2019.

Still there is a shot of the Tigers starting the season 5-0, even if they are the underdog in Auburn and face what is likely an improved FSU team in Week 1 at home.

The offensive line needs just a few tweaks to deliver.

They have one less quarterback option as of August 15 after Myles Brennan revealed he will stop playing college football.  Brennan had been competing with former Arizona State transfer Jayden Daniels and sophomore Garrett Nussmeier for the starting job.

Brennan said in a statement posted to social media that he is "stepping away from football."

"I am forever grateful for every opportunity I've been given, every obstacle I've overcome, and every second I've been a Tiger. However, after five seasons, it is time for me to start a new chapter in my life," he said in the statement.

"We are grateful to Myles for everything he has done for LSU Football," LSU coach Brian Kelly said in a statement. "Myles is a great leader who has made a tremendous impact on this program, and he has earned the respect of everyone here through his commitment and love for LSU.

"Myles has always embodied the traits required to fulfill our mission to graduate champions, and we have full confidence those traits will help him succeed at every step in his journey as he moves forward."

Whomever ends up the starting quarterback - they have a few good selections to consider - they will have one of the SEC's best receivers to throw to in Kayshon Boutte.

Six teams were able to run for 140 yards or more against vs. the LSU defense last season with the Tigers losing all six of those games.  They went 6-1 when it allowed fewer.

Kelly made the jump to the SEC to win titles for LSU as the Tigers head coach.

“It’s a chance to be a part of this incredible conference,” he said. “I’ve never been in many of the venues … Auburn, Kyle Field, the Swamp in my 32 years (as a coach)”

Kelly has come close to a national title twice over his coaching career.

All indications are that this team should win 7 or more games this season and has the potential to make it 9.
