What Are the Regular Season Wins Total Odds for the Minnesota Golden Gophers - 2022?

The Minnesota Golden Gophers win total was posted at 7.5 and favoring the OVER.

Despite a 9-win season, head coach P.J. Fleck considered it a failure.

"I'm up here telling you I failed as a head coach," Fleck said before spring practices began in March. "I did not do well enough, especially on the offensive side of the ball. We were too inconsistent. We had way too many three-and-outs. It just didn't flow together. That starts with me."

What to Know Before You Bet Minnesota Golden Gophers Futures

  • The Golden Gophers won nine games last season, a win total seen in program history only four times since 1905.
  • They beat Wisconsin, but also fell to Bowling Green and Illinois, thus preventing the team from a double digits win record.
  • The Gophers had one of the worst passing attacks in college football last season.
  • Fleck fired offensive coordinator Mike Sanford Jr. and rehired former OC Kirk Ciarrocca, who led Minnesota's best offensive outburst under Fleck in 2019.
  • Minnesota must replace five starters on offense.
  • They do get back John Michael Schmitz and QB Tanner Morgan along with receiver Chris Autman-Bell and running back Mohamed Ibrahim.
  • The Gophers lost to Iowa for a fifth straight time in 2021.
  • We can see seven pretty easy wins then it's either Illinois on the road or Iowa (for whom they can't seem to beat).
  • Maybe Illinois improves, but using last year's team power ratings, Minnesota would actually be a -7 road favorite and we can't see the Fighting Illini improving enough to bring that number anywhere close to EVEN.
  • We do see the OVER 7.5 here.
