The MSU Spartans are listed with a total of 7.5 regular season wins for the 2022 season and priced at -130 on the OVER.

Mel Tucker spoke at MediaDays this past week.

"We are extremely hungry, and we do have a chip on our shoulder. We've got a lot to prove. We have a very high standard of performance, and we have decided as a program to attack that standard every single day.

"There's a lot of work being done in East Lansing right now as we speak. We're actually putting the work in. We're chopping wood every day, and the goal for us is to win every game on our schedule. That's our stated goal. Our goal is to finish first. That's our goal. And we need to bring a championship to East Lansing. So that's what this is all about."

What to Know Before You Bet MSU Spartans Futures

  • MSU probably had the worst pass defense and the worst overall D in the Big Ten last season.
  • Nevertheless, the Spartans still managed to go 11-2.
  • They may be slightly improved but the schedule is harsh.
  • The Spartans get Wisconsin and Minnesota from the West, both fortunately at home.
  • They have to go on the road to Michigan, Penn State, and Maryland is likely to be improved.  Based on last year's power ratings, the Spartans will likely be a -6 favorite in Maryland nonetheless.
  • Based on last year's power ratings, the line would be a PICK'EM at home versus Wisconsin and Minnesota would be a +3 dog at MSU.
  • Some great news is that the Spartans got some bonafide stars through the transfer portal.
  • We are having at tough time getting past 7 wins.  Yes, Washington is winable on the road.  Maryland may not be. Illinois may not be either.  This is going to have to be a very good MSU team to overcome this schedule.  We will be on the UNDER 7.5 games in 2022.
